About the Job:

As the VP of Product at OPOWER, you will report directly to the CEO and be responsible for leading the product management team in the design and development of all of our products. You will be *the* person leading our company in building the industry's leading suite of energy information services.

Responsibilities:

Overall Product Leader

- Strong vision - We're looking for someone to continue to build out our track-record of breakthrough, game-changing solutions.

- Strong leadership - able to move on very aggressive timeline, make good decisions quickly and motivate a large team to do the same. Bring enthusiasm, energy, and clarity of vision to the entire product development organization.

- Recruiting -- find, recruit, and hire the very best!

Product Management

- Product Design -- Develop compelling products, feature sets and business models

- Product Roadmap -- create and sell a product vision and timeline to the team and executives that will enable the company to reach its goals.

- Consumer expertise -- Bring a deep understanding of consumer products and market segmentation.

- Systems Experience -- Comfortable creating value in software and hardware.

- Revenue focus -- Collaborate closely with Marketing and Sales to develop products that our customers want to buy.

Engineering

- Technical vision -- provide excellent technical leadership, inspiring your team to build cutting-edge solutions and proactively bringing new ideas, technologies, and methodologies to the table.

- Budgeting & scheduling -- work closely with engineering management to set an annual budget and schedule that meets the strategic needs of the company

- Coordination and support -- ensure that engineering, QA, and Program Management have everything they need to work smoothly and efficiently.

Requirements

About You:

- 10+ years leading product management and engineering teams at software companies.

- Masters in Computer Science or another analytical field.

- Passion for and expertise in technology, and a proven track-record in designing industry-leading products.

- Worked at a startup before.

- Strong management experience from previous companies.

- You function well in a fast-paced, informal environment where constant change is the norm and the bar for quality is set high
