This opportunity is within the McKesson Health Solutions, Medical Management Group (MMG). The MMG offers a comprehensive suite of medical management products and services to help providers and payers better manage the cost and quality of care. Its CareEnhanceSM and InterQual solutions include: disease management, nurse triage, care management, utilization management, decision support criteria, and software that helps manage workflow, resources, and regulatory reporting processes.

Position Description
This position will ensure release roadmaps are developed, coordinated and executed within the Total Payment solution portfolio. The total payment product owner will work with customers/prospects to understand the business needs in the areas of automated inpatient facility claim processing, payment and medical policy management. The product owner will translate these needs into product roadmaps and user stories and will oversee the work of the technology delivery teams. The Product Owner will be the decision maker for the technology team. The product owner is responsible for creating the product vision, roadmap, prioritizing features, and creating user acceptance criteria. The product owner will track release deliverable and milestones.

Key Responsibilities :

Oversee the execution of the solution roadmap and project scope into user stories and the delivery and acceptance of user stories. Coordinate with the AVP of the solution and the total payment solution product owner to ensure the translation of the market needs into the design and development of the solution. Externally validates the solution roadmaps. Manages the scope of the releases.

Negotiates the milestone dates with the Directors of the functional areas in technology to build the release milestone schedules.

Approves the test strategy for the business and is the decision maker in defect triage. Approves that acceptance criteria was met by the delivery team.

Collaborates with product management, product marketing on release planning and roll out to the market.

Support sales and solution design as needed in selling the total payment solution.


Requirements

Minimum Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of healthcare payor operations related experience with a focus on providing solutions for claim management. Experience in inpatient facility claim processing and/or payment and medical policy management is a must. Knowledge of fraud and abuse identification in a payor environment is a plus. Must have deep payor experience and can translate market/business needs to solution requirements. Expertise in Agile development methodologies is preferred.

Proven Management Expertise is required. Demonstrated knowledge in management of the software development process, negotiation and decision making skills.

Additional Knowledge & Skills
Thorough knowledge of claims the claims performance solutions and demonstrated competency in articulating business problems, user stories and feature functionality to technology teams. Knowledge of healthcare industry and current practices and trends with a focus on health care operations and current technology practices and trends.

Excellent communication (both written and oral) skills and professional demeanor appropriate to interaction with the strategic players in all sales prospects. Must have effective presentation skills.

Education
MBA preferred in Marketing, Business or related field or equivalent experience
